Survey HS5</SPAN><SPAN>4</SPAN><SPAN> was undertaken by </SPAN><SPAN>iXSurvey (now iXBlue) </SPAN><SPAN>on behalf of Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) for hydrographic charting purposes. Compared to traditional hillshades which are illuminated from a single source point only, a multi-directional hillshade is illuminated from 6 separate directions simultaneously, resulting in a more 'natural' expression of terrain.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>This hillshade has been vertically exaggerated by a factor of 3, resulting in greater expression of more subtle geomorphology.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
