Service Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The Department of Conservation contracted NIWA to provide a sub-tidal habitat map survey within the Te Angiangi Marine Reserve and three other reef systems outside the reserve</SPAN><SPAN>.</SPAN><SPAN>Side-scan and bathymetry surveys and video transects were conducted and the results analysed to identify broad habitat types</SPAN><SPAN>.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Five major reef habitat types were identified - encrusting inverterbrates, sponge flat, mixed algae, </SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;">Ecklonia </SPAN><SPAN>forest and shallow </SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;">Capophyllum </SPAN><SPAN>habitat.
